Naples is one of Italy’s most fascinating cities and, for many international travellers, the main gateway to Sorrento and the Sorrento Peninsula thanks to Naples International Airport and Napoli Centrale railway station.
The historic centre is full of extraordinary places to discover. Walk along Spaccanapoli, visit the Monastery of Santa Chiara and explore San Gregorio Armeno, famous for its traditional artisan workshops.
Continue towards Piazza del Plebiscito and the magnificent San Carlo Theatre. To end the day, a walk along the Naples seafront offers beautiful views across the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius.

How to get from Naples to Sorrento and the Sorrento Peninsula
If you arrive in Naples by plane or train, there are several ways to continue to Sorrento and the Sorrento Peninsula. From Naples Airport, the Curreri bus provides a direct connection to Sorrento. From Napoli Centrale railway station, you can travel by Circumvesuviana train towards Sorrento, with stops including Piano di Sorrento. It is an economical option, although it can be less comfortable when travelling with several suitcases, young children or after a long journey.
Another scenic option is the hydrofoil from Naples to Sorrento, when services are operating, allowing you to begin your stay with beautiful views from the Bay of Naples.
For the simplest and most comfortable arrival, especially with luggage, we can also arrange a private transfer from Naples Airport or Napoli Centrale directly to your accommodation. This avoids connections and allows you to travel directly to Sorrento, Piano di Sorrento or Praiano.

Capri & Anacapri — What to See and How to Get There from Sorrento
Capri is one of the most iconic islands in Italy and one of the most unforgettable destinations in the Bay of Naples. Famous worldwide for its dramatic coastline, Mediterranean landscapes, elegant atmosphere and crystal-clear sea, it is an ideal day trip from Sorrento and the Sorrento Peninsula.
Arriving at Marina Grande, you can continue towards Capri town and explore its charming streets, boutiques and panoramic terraces. Among the places not to miss are the Gardens of Augustus, which offer beautiful views of the famous Faraglioni, one of the island’s most recognisable symbols.
Anacapri offers a quieter and more relaxed atmosphere. Here you can wander through the historic centre, visit Villa San Michele and take the chairlift to Monte Solaro, the highest point on the island, with extraordinary views across the sea, the Sorrento Peninsula and the Amalfi Coast.

From Sorrento: Capri is easily reached from Marina Piccola in Sorrento. Ferries and hydrofoils depart directly for Marina Grande in Capri, making Capri one of the easiest island day trips from Sorrento. Companies operating the route include NLG and Caremar. Timetables and frequency vary according to the season and sea conditions.

From Piano di Sorrento: when seasonal sea services are operating, Capri may also be reached directly from Marina di Cassano. This can be particularly convenient for guests staying at Interno 8. Alternatively, you can travel to Ercolano Scavi and continue towards the volcano by authorised shuttle, taxi or organised transfer.
Access to Trail No. 5 – The Gran Cono requires advance booking, with entrance tickets purchased online. Before travelling, it is advisable to check weather conditions and any current notices issued by Vesuvius National Park.
Mount Vesuvius Information & TicketsOur advice: allow at least half a day for Pompeii and around two hours for Herculaneum. Book your Gran Cono visit in advance and bring water, a hat and comfortable walking shoes, especially during the summer months.
